| Revision of Swedish textbook on Environmental Economics |

Runar Brännlund and Bengt Kriström are revising their Swedish textbook on Environmental Economics, because the subject is developing rapidly and the book is quite popular. As an introductory book of environmental economics, it deals with the most common issues in this subject. The books structure makes it possible to use parts of it for a shorter course where no particular background knowledge is needed. However the entire book requires a longer course in environmental economics. The book provides an overview of the subject and the importance of environmental economics, it also addresses the resource allocation problem when there are deviations from the perfect market economy in the form of externalities and public goods. The first edition of the book came in 1998, and revisions are mainly made in the empirical examples. The authors hopes that the book will be finished in the autumn semester of 2012. |
