Dimitrios Zormpas, an SLU alumnus and a third year Ph.D. student in Real Estate Appraisal and Land Economics at the University of Padova, Italy, is visiting CERE. His research focuses on Real Options, Resource and Environmental Economics.
Dimitrios’s visit is motivated by his recent participation in the 24th Ulvön Conference on Environmental Economics where he met Associate Professor Tommy Lundgren and Professor Bengt Kriström and become more familiar with CERE’s activities. His research focuses on Real Options, Resource and Environmental Economics. Dimitrios is also interested in land allocation problems. He used a real options framework to analyze the timing and efficiency of an investment project characterized by uncertainty and irreversibility, when the investment decision is delegated by the project originator (principal) to a manager (agent).
Since he will soon submit his PhD thesis Dimitrios expectations on this visit is to receive critique on his PhD thesis. He is also looking forward to building strong bonds with the people in CERE that will eventually lead to original work on the field of environmental and resource economics with his contribution. Dimitrios will stay until the middle of October.
