A warm welcome to our new PhD student Shanshan Zhang. She was born 1986 in China and comes from the northern city Xi'An that is famous for its terracotta warriors. Shanshan finished her bachelor from China Agriculture University with a major in international trade and economics.

In 2009 she moved to Uppsala where she finished her master degree at The Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU). She majored in environmental economics and management and the title of her master thesis is "Engage Corporate Responsibility (CSR) in Zijin Mining Group: Integration with Real Options Approach and Stakeholder Theory".

In June 2011 she moved to Umeå and started her PhD that will be about energy efficiency and policy research. Shanshan finds Umeå a bit cold but enjoys the city and finds the people nice and friendly. At her leisure time she likes to play badminton and jog.
