The third CERE annual winter workshop was by tradition held in the small village Ammarnäs situated in the Swedish mountains. It was two intense days of interesting presentations and discussions regarding environmental and resource economics issues. Luck with the weather also offered perfect conditions to enjoy outdoor winter activities such as cross-country skiing, downhill skiing and snowmobile riding. Professor Carmelo Leon from Universidad de las Palmas de Gran Canaria was this year invited as a keynote speaker. He held a presentation about survey in economic studies, on the importance of observing what people actually do rather than asking what they think they would do. This since the difference between these is tangible. Ammarnäs inspired him to create the painting below.
