Center for Environmental and Resource Economics (CERE)

CERE is an inter-disciplinary research centre in the field of environmental and resource economics and management. The Centre, located in Umeå, unites Umeå University (UmU), and the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU). Individually, they are leading Swedish academic institutions providing research strength on issues regarding the husbandry of our environment and natural resources.

The main objectives are to:

  • link research groups at different departments and universities (UmU, SLU)
  • provide seminars and workshops within the field of environmental and resource economics and management
  • constitute a platform for a creative and strong research environment within the field
  • develop higher education in environmental and resource economics
